BSc Agriculture Course: Overview

The BSc Agriculture Course is a four-year degree program that covers the principles of agriculture and related sciences. In most of the universities in India, the admission to BSc Agriculture Course is done on the basis of marks secured in 10+2 or higher secondary examination.

Fourth Year BSc Agriculture Syllabus

Seventh Semester

This semester’s Syllabus is designed to give students Rural Agricultural Work Experience and Agro-industrial Experience by Attaching them to the agriculture community.

The students would be attached to the agrarian community for a minimum period of 3-4 weeks during this semester. The aims of this programme are to provide the students with an opportunity to:

  • Experience firsthand the realities of rural agricultural life and agro-industries.
  • Develop a better understanding and empathy for the problems and issues faced by the rural agrarian community.
  • Gain valuable insights into the potentials and limitations of agriculture as a means of livelihood.
  • Identify and appreciate the diverse cultural heritage of the rural agrarian community.
  • Enhance their communication and interpersonal skills.

Rural Agricultural Work Experience: The village attachment training programme’s aim is to provide students with real-life experience.

The village attachment training programme’s aim is to provide students following real-life experience. This involved orientation and surveys of their local area, where they will be able to explore agricultural interventions such as soil improvement techniques for different types of agriculture production (soil sampling) along with fruit/vegetable planting campaigns that include food processing and animal production experience.

Industrial and agro-business work experience: Agro-industrial attachment aim is to provide students with experience in agro-business.

Students will gain practical work experience in the agricultural and agro-business industry. The aim is to provide students with knowledge about how businesses operate, their structure & functionings; objectives as well as mandates or laws governing them (if any).

Additionally they learn various processing units within this domain alongside training supervised by staff members from that specific unit who can also give input on what skills should be developed more specifically for your future employment opportunities out there waiting!

Crop Production
